RICHARDSON, Texas (November 18, 2013) — JJ Pearce Theater’s production of MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT was chosen as one of just four main stage shows honored with performances at the 2013 Texas Thespian State Festival. They will rock the house Friday, November 22nd at 2:00 & 7:00 PM at the Dallas Convention Center's Kay Bailey Hutchinson Theater.
“We had a blast working on Spamalot during its initial run,” said Heather Biddle, JJ Pearce Theater Director. “Being chosen to be a ‘main stage’ show during Thespians is a huge honor and further exemplifies the professional quality shows our students continually put on.”
Texas Thespians is the largest chapter in the nation of the Educational Theatre Association which sponsors the International Thespian Society.
Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful show girls?
The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including "Best Musical," and received 14 Tony Award nominations.
